Freelance E-commerce Developer in Sri Lanka
I am Nethma Dissanayake, a freelance software engineer and e-commerce developer in Sri Lanka with 5+ years of full-stack experience. I build Shopify and WooCommerce stores for Sri Lankan sellers, fix what is losing sales, and keep growing them every month.
What I do
- New store build. A fast, mobile-first Shopify or WooCommerce store with product pages, collections, checkout and the emails customers expect.
- Local payments. PayHere and WebXPay card payments, cash on delivery, and clear order confirmation, set up and tested end to end.
- Delivery setup. Delivery rates by district or weight, and order exports that work with couriers such as Koombiyo and Domex.
- Speed and SEO. Image and theme tuning, clean product titles, sitemaps and structured data so your products can be found.
- Redesign and fixes. Find what is losing sales on your current store, from slow pages to confusing checkout, and fix it.
- Monthly care. Updates, backups, small changes and growth work each month, so your store keeps improving after launch.
Built for how Sri Lanka shops
Stores here need local card payments through gateways such as PayHere and WebXPay, cash on delivery, and delivery through couriers like Koombiyo and Domex. Many customers browse in Sinhala on their phones. I plan for all of that from the start, instead of adding it later.
Shopify or WooCommerce?
The right platform depends on your payments, budget in rupees and how much you want to manage yourself. Read my comparison of Shopify vs WooCommerce in Sri Lanka, or my checklist for choosing an e-commerce developer in Sri Lanka.
How we work
- A short call about your products, customers and goals.
- A written quote that separates build cost from running costs.
- Build, test with real orders, then launch.
- Monthly improvements to speed, conversion and search visibility.
Questions
Do you work with Shopify or WooCommerce?
Both. I will recommend the one that fits your payments, budget and how you want to manage the store. My comparison of Shopify vs WooCommerce in Sri Lanka explains the trade-offs.
Can customers pay with local cards?
Yes. I integrate PayHere and WebXPay, test them with real orders, and make sure payments update orders correctly. Gateway support differs by platform, so I confirm what is available before we start.
Can the store support Sinhala?
Yes. I choose fonts and themes that display Sinhala properly on a phone, and test product pages, search and checkout.
Will I own my store?
Always. The domain, store account and gateway account are registered in your name, and I work as a collaborator.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the number of products and features. After a short call I send a written quote that separates the build cost from running costs such as domain, hosting and apps.
